A free Bitcoin address lookup: paste any address to see its balance and latest transactions, and to verify its type and checksum.
The checker needs JavaScript. What it checks, and answers to common questions, are below.
Bitcoin address lookup: what it checks
Balance: the confirmed balance in BTC, sats and US dollars, plus any unconfirmed incoming or outgoing amounts still in the mempool.
Transactions: total received and sent, the transaction count, and the latest 25 transactions with date, amount, fee rate, confirmations, and what each was worth then and now in US dollars.
Did my funds move? The last transaction that spent from the address, when it happened and whether it has confirmed, or a clear "nothing has left this address".
Coins (UTXOs): each unspent coin with what it costs to spend at today's fee rates, flags for dust and coins that cost more to spend than they're worth, and when combining small coins would help.
Privacy notes: address reuse and possible dust sent to the address.
A QR code and a copy button for the address.
Bitcoin addresses: Legacy (1…), P2SH (3…), Native SegWit (bc1q…) and Taproot (bc1p…), with a full checksum check, so a mistyped address shows as invalid.
Testnet addresses (m…, n…, 2…, tb1…), which can't receive real bitcoin.
Lightning: Lightning Addresses (user@domain, checked live against the address's server), BOLT11 invoices (lnbc…) and LNURLs.
Other chains people confuse with Bitcoin: Ethereum, Solana, TRON, XRP, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, Cardano and Cosmos.
Bitcoin address checker: questions
How do I check if a Bitcoin address is valid?
Paste it into the checker above. Every Bitcoin address has a checksum built in: Base58Check for addresses starting with 1 or 3, Bech32 for bc1q and Bech32m for bc1p. If a character is mistyped, the checksum fails and the address shows as invalid. A valid checksum means the address is well formed, not that it belongs to the person you think. Confirm it with them, and compare the first and last characters after you paste: some malware swaps copied addresses.
Can I see who owns a Bitcoin address?
No. The blockchain records amounts and transactions, not names, so a Bitcoin address lookup shows what an address received, sent and still holds, but not who controls it. Exchanges and chain-analysis companies label some addresses privately; this checker doesn't.
Why does an address show a zero balance?
Usually for one of these reasons: the address has never received anything; everything it received was later spent; or the payment is still unconfirmed, in which case the checker shows it as pending. Wallets also hand out a new address for each payment and send change to new addresses, so one address rarely shows a whole wallet's balance. Finally, an address starting with 1 can also exist on Bitcoin Cash, and coins there don't show up on Bitcoin.
What's the difference between 1…, 3…, bc1q and bc1p addresses?
They're four generations of Bitcoin address. 1… is Legacy (P2PKH), the original 2009 format. 3… is P2SH, added in 2012 and used for multisig and wrapped SegWit. bc1q… is Native SegWit (2017), now the most common. bc1p… is Taproot (2021). Any modern wallet can send to all four. The newer formats make smaller transactions, so spending from them costs less: a Native SegWit input is less than half the size of a Legacy one. A few older services still can't send to bc1p.
Is it safe to paste my address here?
Yes. An address is public: you give it out to get paid, and nothing in it can move your coins. Never paste a seed phrase (12 or 24 words), a private key or an xprv into any website. The format and checksum are checked in your browser. For the balance and transactions, Rizful's server fetches public blockchain data from Blockstream (or mempool.space as a backup), so those explorers see our server, not you. Result links are kept out of search engines.
How do I look up a Bitcoin transaction?
Paste its transaction ID (64 letters and numbers) into the Unconfirmed Transaction Checker. It shows whether the transaction has confirmed, how far back in the queue it is, and how to speed it up. When you look up an address here, each of its unconfirmed transactions links straight to that checker.
